Play Golf

The following information and tips are designed to help you play our course better.

Hole 1 - Westward Ho - Par 4
(Men 315m Ladies 308m)
Slight dog leg to right. Tree lined fairway. Second shot to green important  to avoid running off  the back of the green and lower part of green on the right slopes to the right.

 

Hole 2 - Plateau - Par 4
(Men 320m Ladies 252m)This is a relatively short par 4. Uphill slight dog leg left to an elevated flatish green. a well placed tee shot should be on the right half of the fairway. The green apron is gently sloped on the left side but quite steep on the right.The approach should favour the left side.  

                              

Hole 3 Dress Circle - Par 4
(Men 325m Ladies 308m )
A short par 4, playing downhill from the tee and uphill from the fairway to the green. There is OB along the whole of the right side and behind the green. There is a hazard approx. 80M short and to the right of the green. The green is generally flat.

 

Hole 4 - Temptation - Par 4
(Men 322m Ladies 305m)
Sharp dog leg left. to a relatively flat green. There is OB both sides from the tee. The tee shot should be sufficent only to clear the rise in front of the tee. leaving about 140M to the green. The OB on the left side runs right up to the green

 

Hole 5 - Lands End - Par 4
(Men 262m Ladies 265m)
A short par 4. Slight dog leg left to a green which slopes gently from back to front. From the tee it is possible to drive OB at the bend of the fairway on the right side. The OB extends right around the rear of the green. The hole has 3 bunkers. 2 on the left and 1 on the right.

 

Hole 6 - Te Henui - Par 4
(Men 270m Ladies 262m)
 A short par 4. Dog leg to right.  Tee shot centre and over hill will leave straightforward shot to green which slopes back to front. There is OB the full length of the fairway on the right. There is a large tree protecting the left side of the green.

 

Hole 7 - Target - Par 3
(Men 117m Ladies 92m)
Excellent par 3. Small raised green protected by a large bunker across the front. The green slopes back to front and right to left. Par is good score here.

 

 

Hole 8 - Lookout - Par 4
(Men 360m Ladies 257m)
A Long par 4. Dogleg left to a large flat green. The tee shot needs to favour the right side to avoid the OB which runs the full length  of the fairway on the left side. There is a deep drop off beside the green on the right side.

 

 

Hole 9 - Tipperary Par 4 Men Par 5 Women
(Men 378m Ladies 374m)
A long par 4. Dogleg left to an elevated, narrow 2 tier green. The tee shot needs to favour the right side and the approach shot demands accuracy as there is drop off on both sides of the front of the green. It,s OB behind the green. 

 

Hole 10 - Haeremai - Par 5
(Men 436m Ladies 413m )
A short par 5. Gently uphill to a green which slopes from front to back. There is OB the full length of the fairway on the left and behind the green.  Bunker left of green. Placement of tee and second shot sets up a birdie chance. 

 

Hole 11 - Pohutukawa - Par 4
(Men 349m ladies 328m )
Par 4. Slightly down hill to reasonably flat green that slopes away from the fairway. There is a drop of off on both sides and to the rear of the green. A tee shot down the centre of the fairway sets up a birdie chance.

 

 

Hole 12 - Mt. View - Par 4
(Men 354m Ladies 310m)
Par 4. Gentle uphill slight dogleg left to a green that is moderately sloped except for the the front right portion which is more severe.  Care needed with approach shot as out of bounds to right of green and slopes away to this area.

 

Hole 13 - Causeway -Par 4
(Men 273m Ladies 238m )
Men tee off across part of Lake. The green slopes from front to back and has a drop off on the left side as well as the back. A bunker guards the front right corner of the green. The approach should favour the right side of the green as the bounce is generally left.

 

Hole 14 - Mae West -Par 3
(Men 176m Ladies 125m )
176M from the back tee. This shot is all carry to a small moderately sloping green. There are two bunkers to the left of the green and a Lateral water hazard to the left of the pathway. It is better to be short than long from the tee.

 

Hole 15 - The Wrecker - Par 5
(Men 456m ladies 385m )
The tee shot should favour the right side and a lay up is often required with second shot to make approach easier. The green is reasonably flat with a bunker guarding the left side. From the tee there is OB down the left side and a lateral hazard. The hole crosses to significant dips.

 

Hole 16 - Tom Thumb - Par 3
(Men 133m Ladies 379m )
Elevated tee. A reasonably flat green. There is OB all along the left side and at the rear of the green. Wind is often a major factor in club selection.

 

 

Hole 17 - The Saddle - Par 5
(Men 468m Ladies 379m )
Dog leg left to a flat green guarded by two bunkers on the right side. Tee shot should favour the right side as the fairway slopes to the left. Dog leg to left for second with hazard along left just over the saddle. The second needs only to be on fairway past saddle to give straight forward shot to green.

 

Hole 18 - Oasis - Par 4
(Men 289m Ladies 289m )
 Green slopes back to front that is protected at the front on both sides by bunkers. The tee shot is the key to making par on this hole.
